New England continental shelf and slope waters from 25 nm offshore to the Hague Line, except to 1000 fm south of New England.

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than twice the significant wave height.

Locally higher winds and seas can be expected in and near tstms.

The National Weather Service is accepting public comments until July 29 2024 on a proposal to replace feet with meters when describing seas in a variety of National Marine Center text and graphical products for the Offshore and High Seas Areas only. SYNOPSIS FOR NEW ENGLAND WATERS
High pressure will persist SE of the area tonight through Sat night. A weak cold front or low pressure trough will pass just N or NW of the waters tonight into Tue. A stronger cold front will slowly approach the area from the W later Tue into Thu, move slowly SE over the waters later Thu into early Fri, then pass S of the region by later Fri and Fri night as high pressure builds E over New England. A third cold front will approach the area from the NW Sat and Sat night as the high weakens.
